John was born and raised in Middlebury. While studying geology at Middlebury College, he decided to pursue an interest in carpentry. In 1971 John became one of the first resident artists at the newly conceived Frog Hollow Craft Center. Over the next few decades John rounded out his woodworking career with extensive experience in home building, cabinet and furniture making, and architectural restoration.
In addition to making unique, hand-crafted serving boards and rolling pins, John also makes custom cabinetry and furniture.
