Sally Duval

Most of my work is designed for the table and daily use, with the hope that the user can sense the touch of the maker’s hand; that there is a connection between the hand that makes and the hand that uses.

Sally has been working with clay since 1977 when she started an informal apprenticeship with Vermont potter George Scatchard. She has since studied with numerous nationally known potters. The idea of functional art has always been the inspiration for her work, with an eye towards capturing a feeling of playfulness in both form and surface treatment.
