Artist Gretchen Verplank reinvents her artistic roots with her new exhibition, Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps), opening at Frog Hollow.

In 2020, when Verplank rekindled her passion for sculpture, she made a little monster.  This new series playfully combines her background in figurative art with a touch of whimsy, resulting in a collection of unique ceramic monsters bursting with personality.

Verplank, known for her intricately crafted and often humorous functional pottery, takes a delightful detour with Scary Monsters. This exhibition features dozens of miniature creatures, each with its own distinct style and story.

The creative process itself brings Verplank immense satisfaction, knowing that her art will bring joy to others.
