WILD LITTLE PLACES
Paintings by Carrie Ade
June 3rd - June 29th
Beginning June 3rd, Frog Hollow Craft Association and Gallery will exhibit “Wild Little Places,” a show featuring new work by Gallery Member Carrie Ade. The work is an accumulation of the artist’s own observations in nature with an emphasis on detailed excerpts of the landscape, centering on native flora and fauna found throughout Vermont State and greater New England.
Through an intricate and stylized approach, Carrie uses a vibrant acrylic palette to build a perspective that is not an attempt at realism, by the artist, but an effort to show the infinite shapes and combinations of pattern and color one might observe in these wild or overgrown natural spaces. The detail in Carrie’s work is an invitation for you to give each piece time, encouraging you to notice more than you initially might in these thoughtful depictions of nature and the landscape.
Carrie Ade is a professional botanical and landscape artist that has worked for over 20 years with national parks, botanical gardens, and environmental conservation organizations around the world, with a dedication to intertwine the two fields of environmental education and the arts to expand public knowledge and grow appreciation for native ecosystems. She currently Lives and paints in Middlebury VT.
