Jess started her illustration business - Polanshek of the Hills - in 2013 in Vermont.  Focusing on high detail and loose realism, her work has evolved into an illustrative and whimsical style with a strong focus on the beauty and intricacies of the natural world.  Illustrations are completed in pen and watercolor on paper and revolve around an unwavering obsession with northern forests and the creatures that inhabit them.
