JULIA HARRISON

WILLISTON, VERMONT

My mother taught me to knit when I was very young. She was taught by her mother, who was taught by her mother, so knitting has always held a very special significance to me as a tradition passed down by many generations of women in my family. I have been knitting for over 30 years, and began designing my own patterns several years ago. I am inspired by geometric shapes and art, as well as vibrant and contrasting colors. My work explores how hard edges and shapes shift appearances against ombre colorwork.
